Dr Louise Woodward
Louise Woodward is a General Paediatrician with interests in neonatology, acute care paediatrics, indigenous health, and simulation medical education. She works as a Paediatrician at Royal Darwin Hospital, and the Darwin Private Hospital. She has established the Paediatric Simulation program and the Neonatal Emergency Transport Service at Royal Darwin Hospital. She is also an Advanced Paediatric Life Support instructor. She has a breadth of experience in all areas of paediatrics from newborns, to adolescents, and every child in between.
She graduated from Monash University in Melbourne in 2002 and did the majority of her paediatric training at the Royal Children’s Hospital. She also spent 2 years of her training working in Dublin, Ireland. She arrived in Darwin in 2011 to pursue Paediatrics in the NT and obtained her paediatric fellowship from the Royal Australiasian College of Physicians in 2013.
Louise and her husband, Ben now have 3 children and have well and truly fallen in love with Darwin, making it their forever home.
Louise wants to improve the care of all children in the Top End through advocacy, medical education, and the provision of high quality service.
